Why people use Merge PDF without uploading
Combining an application form, an ID scan, and a cover letter into one PDF is a daily job. Cloud mergers upload every file. If any of those pages is sensitive, the “free merge” just became a copy on someone else’s disk. This merger concatenates pages locally: order the files, drop pages you do not need, download one PDF.
How to use Merge PDF on this page
- Add two or more PDFs. Thumbnails render in the browser with PDF.js — still no upload.
- Drag the list so the first file is the one that should open on page 1.
- Expand a file and click a page thumbnail to exclude it (blank pages, the extra ID copy, a signature page you already have).
- Merge. One PDF comes back. Bookmarks from the originals are not rewritten; page content is copied as-is.
What this tool keeps — and what it does not
Each included page is copied from the source, not re-rendered, so fonts and vectors survive. We do not flatten unless you later run High compression. Rotation and crop boxes are preserved from the original page dictionaries.
Limits, failed files, and honest tradeoffs
Encrypted PDFs that require a password cannot be opened here. Huge stacks (hundreds of pages across many files) may hit memory on mobile. Merge in batches, or do it on a laptop. We do not currently merge PDF portfolios or XFA forms as live forms — they come through as printed pages if the viewer already flattened them.
